My Story

Belgian-Uruguayan filmmaker, graduated from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (Belgium), Beatriz furthered her studies at the Binger Filmlab (Amsterdam), l’Institut Européen de l’Acteur (France), the North Carolina School of the Arts (USA), and through numerous workshops to acquire a diverse set of tools for directing and coaching actors. She studied with Delia Salvi, Robert Lewis, Judith Weston, Joan Scheckel, Lola Cohen, and Marjorie Ballentine, focusing on the American legacy of the Stanislavski System, particularly that of Lee Strasberg (Actors Studio) and Stella Adler. With Oleg Koudriachov and Valentin Tepliakov, she delved into the Russian heritage of Stanislavski, mainly the Method of Physical Actions, and the training of the Gitis Academy in Moscow. She also explored in Russia Michael Chekhov's techniques with Slava Kokorin, Zoya Zadorozhnaya, and Ulrich Meyer from the Chekhov International Theatre School.

After founding and directing the Uruguayan Film School (ECU), she established a Master in Acting for Cinema, for Montevideo Dramatic Art School’s graduates. She has also taught at the Film School of Cuba (EICTV, Higher Studies of Cinematography).

Currently, she runs her own Acting and Directing Actors Workshop in Brussels, where actors are trained and coached in role preparation and shootings alongside directors and filmmakers.

Beatriz is also a screenwriter and producer. She has written, produced, and directed several award-winning short and feature films showcased in numerous festivals.

Beatriz is passionate about working with actors. Her ongoing challenge is to help develop their talents as creators, not just as performers.
